The wait for the table on a Sunday afternoon was 45 minutes. The service was great and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I ordered the meatloaf based on the waiter's recommendation. That was not a good choice. The meatloaf was not very flavorful. It seemed to be half breading and half meat. I had to really salt and pepper it up to get some flavor in it. I saw people at other tables had ordered the chicken and waffles. That is what I will be ordering the next time I go. That meal looked AMAZING.

Varied menu with friendly wait staff. Food comes quickly and is tasty. They have seating at tables or booths. Hours are 8 AM to 8 PM daily. Worth the visit. I'm going back!

Best waffle I've ever had! Seriously, it was incredible. I highly suggest that you go just to try it. The service was excellent. Our server was two steps ahead on everything and extremely nice. Everything about our group of six: food, service, and ambiance was all very good. Everyone stated that the food came out fast and tasted great!

Listen...the food has always been good each time I've come here but TODAY.....Danashia was the sweetest, most attentive and personable server. Please recognize her and her promote her!

Great casual dining. Friendly staff. Good food! Will be returning if ever in a need for quick bite.

I have always been wanting to take a picture of my amazing food but, I always forget. Metro diner is amazing. The service is good, the atmosphere is good, and even the food is good. I am probably going to go again today. (I went yesterday) THE FOOD: The food is quite delectable. I order a dish that has sirloin steak, hash browns, (removed the tomatoes), and it's this very nice sauce (forgot the name). Which is very good. I get either a water or a sweet tea as my drink. Food rating: 5/5 THE SERVICE: The service is very good! The manager even asked how the food was! Our server was very nice! The food arrived in 5-10 minutes. There was no wait (There will probably be a wait on Sunday, due to church). Service rating: 5/5 THE ATMOSPHERE: The place is very nice, the people are nice, and there are no loud annoying sounds. I have sat near where the cooks cook. It was very cold (might've been under an air vent). The price is pretty good for the amazing food, and amount of food you would get. Atmosphere rating: 5/5 TOTAL RATING 5/5

Traveling through Augusta I came across a familiar name. This location was smaller than the Florida establishments I've been too but clean and friendly. I was seated quickly. My waiter was John and he was very nice and attentive. I knew what I wanted so placed my order for sausage biscuits and gravy with medium eggs and hash-browns, coffee and water. It arrived in just a few minutes. Nice hearty meal, sausage gravy was very tasty, eggs were cooked correctly, hash-browns delicious. My only dislike was the biscuits. (-1). Very, very dense. I would have preferred fluffier/flaky biscuits. The dense biscuits required more gravy but because of the portion size I just scraped one clean and added that gravy to the other biscuit. This was a better ratio. Metro is known for large helpings and fair prices. I would still return and suggest you give it a try.

Simple. Great breakfast/brunch. I lived in Augusta for 4 years and never had a bad metro experience! Always good service & great food! Give the spicy honey chicken biscuit a try! That biscuit puts Chick fil A to shame!

This was not my first visit. In fact I previously referred to it as the "Meh"tro Diner because I wasn't that impressed. On Monday we were looking for a breakfast spot and decided to give it a retry. It was a rainy morning but the ambiance was welcoming. My 82 yo mom thought it was chilly. Our server Matthew promptly came to take our drink order. He was such a nice young man! Mom ordered the "Bisell Breakfast" which was 2 eggs, a meat, hash browns or grits, choice of bread and a short stack. I got a Western omelette, grits, and a biscuit. Both entrees were $11.99. On our first visit our eggs were cold but on this trip they were perfect. Mom always orders eggs over medium and few places do it properly but she said they did a fine job. The only criticisms we had were that the pancakes, while tasty, were tough. I had to cut it with a knife! The biscuits appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp for a spell and neither of us ate them. However, overall the food was good, the service wonderful and we felt it was good value. I'm glad we gave Metro Diner another try and I will no longer refer to it as "meh"!

Update: we got the fried chicken Benedict and the teriyaki bowl and it was hands down, THE best!! I mean if you know this place, you know you cannot choose a wrong dish. We love and frequent this place a couple times a month. Highly recommend to anyone.
